Arriving by Air

The closest airport is Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL). The airport is a major North American gateway served by all major international airlines.

Airport Shuttle Bus (747 Express Bus)

  • This is the most cost-effective public transport option, running 24/7 between the airport and downtown Montréal.
  • The 747 route offers two main options: Route 1 takes you through downtown and close to the hotel, while Route 2 connects to the Lionel-Groulx Metro Station.
  • Duration: Approximately 35–45 minutes, depending on traffic.
  • Cost & Tickets: The fare is $11.25 CAD (subject to change), which is valid for 24 hours across the entire STM bus and metro network. It is not possible to pay this fare with cash on the bus; you must purchase a ticket beforehand.
  • For the most up-to-date schedule and route information, please consult the official STM 747 Route Page.

Taxi / Ride-Share

  • Option: The quickest and most direct way to reach the hotel.
  • Duration: Approximately 15–20 minutes.
  • Cost: Taxis operate on a fixed rate (approximately $50–$60 CAD, before tip) from YUL to the downtown area. Uber and Lyft are also readily available.

Arriving by Train

The conference venue is uniquely accessible, as it is located directly above Montreal Central Station (Gare Centrale).
  • Accessibility: Guests arriving via VIA Rail Canada (major Canadian routes) or Amtrak (from the US, e.g., New York) can access the hotel lobby immediately from the station.
  • Metro Connection: The Central Station is also connected directly to the Bonaventure Metro Station.

Getting Around the City (Metro & Bus)

The hotel is situated in the heart of downtown and is connected to Montréal’s transit system and underground network:
  • Metro Connection: The hotel is directly connected to the Bonaventure Station (Orange Line) via the underground level.
  • Underground City (RESO): The venue is part of the extensive underground network, allowing access to shopping, dining, and other key venues (including the Palais des congrès convention centre).

Bus and Metro Tickets (Important Notes)

  • Payment at Metro Stations: Ticket machines in the metro accept debit, MasterCard, or cash. AMEX and other credit cards are generally not accepted.
  • Bus Payment: You cannot tap your credit/debit card or buy single tickets directly on the bus. You must purchase your ticket (or an Opus Card) beforehand.
  • Buying Tickets: The easiest way to buy and reload tickets when not physically at a metro station is by obtaining an Opus Card (available at Metro stations) and reloading it using the Chrono App (if your phone supports NFC).
  • Bus Stops: Several STM bus routes stop conveniently near the hotel, including major stops like René-Lévesque / Mansfield.
  • Recommendation: For real-time scheduling and precise route planning, we highly recommend using Google Maps or a transit application such as the official STM-recommended Chrono or Transit app. (Google Maps is often reported as having a more reliable user experience than Chrono).

Arriving by Car

  • Parking: The Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth offers on-site valet parking and self-parking options (fees apply).
